Three of the biggest bands who started the hard rock scene were The Who, Led Zeppelin, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Theses bands started in the mid to late sixties and brought the music realm to the next level. Jimi Hendrix was one of the biggest influences, with his unique guitar style and then lighting it on fire and smashing it. The Who started to smash there instrument during performance and had a quick somewhat aggressive style.

In the seventies the music scene went into a heavier darker realm. Metal started in England when Black Sabbath released there self titled album and Paranoid (1970). More bands started to emerge form Europe and the America. One of the biggest spots for metal of the seventies (and music in general) is Sunset Boulevard LA, bands like Van Halen, Guns’n’Roses, and Mötley Crüe.
